Summary: Item Organizer stores all your data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data. Optional Google Drive backup is fully controlled by you. Ads are served by Google AdMob.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Item Organizer ("the App", "we", "our") handles your information. Item Organizer is a personal and business inventory management app for Android.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

The App allows you to create and manage an inventory of items. All data you enter is stored locally on your device and is never sent to our servers (we do not operate any servers).

This includes:

Item names, descriptions, categories, notes, and custom fields
Photos and videos you capture or import
Voice notes you record
Room/location names and hierarchy
Tags, templates, and workspace names
Price, quantity, and other item metadata

2.2 Google Account Information

If you choose to enable Google Drive backup, the App uses Google Sign-In to authenticate with your Google account. We receive:

Email address — used solely to display which account is connected for backup

We do not store your Google password or access token beyond the current session. Google Sign-In is handled entirely by Google's SDKs.

2.3 Information Collected by Third Parties

2.4 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect your location or GPS data
We do not collect contacts, call logs, or SMS
We do not collect browsing history
We do not create user accounts or profiles
We do not use analytics or tracking services
We do not operate any servers that receive your data

3. How We Use Information

Inventory management — all item data is used locally to provide the App's features
Google Drive backup — if you enable this optional feature, your inventory database (and optionally photos) are uploaded to your own Google Drive account in an "Item Organizer Backups" folder
Notifications — local notifications remind you about item expiry, warranty expiry, low stock, and lending due dates (you control these in Settings)
Advertising — Google AdMob displays ads within the App to support free access

4. Google Drive Backup

Google Drive backup is entirely optional. When enabled:

Your inventory database is uploaded to your own Google Drive
Optionally, item photos can be included in the backup
Backups are stored in a folder called "Item Organizer Backups" in your Drive
We use the drive.file and drive.appdata scopes, which only allow access to files created by the App — we cannot read or modify your other Drive files
You can view, download, or delete your backups at any time from Google Drive
You can disconnect Google Drive from the App at any time in Settings

We never access, read, or process your backup data. It goes directly from your device to your Google Drive account.

5. Advertising

The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect:

Your device's Advertising ID
Device information (model, OS version)
Ad interaction data (views, clicks)
IP address (for general location-based ad targeting)

This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device's ad settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.

6. Permissions

The App requests the following Android permissions:

You can revoke any permission at any time through your device's Settings. The App will continue to function — only the specific feature requiring that permission will be unavailable.

7. Data Storage and Security

All inventory data is stored in a local SQLite database on your device
Photos, videos, and voice notes are stored in the App's private storage directory
Preferences and settings are stored using Android's DataStore (encrypted at rest by the OS)
Google Drive backups are protected by your Google account's security
We do not transmit any inventory data to external servers
The App has android:allowBackup="false" to prevent Android system backups of app data

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Local data: Stored until you delete it. Deleted items go to a recycle bin and can be restored or permanently deleted.
Google Drive backups: Stored in your Google Drive until you delete them. You can delete all backups from within the App's Settings or directly from Google Drive.
Uninstalling the App: Removes all local data (database, photos, voice notes, videos, preferences) from your device. Google Drive backups remain in your Drive account until you manually delete them.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to address the concern.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The App may display advertisements that link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

12. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access, correct, or delete your personal data
Object to or restrict processing of your data
Withdraw consent for optional features (Google Drive, notifications, camera, microphone)
Request a copy of your data (use the App's export feature: JSON, CSV, or ZIP)

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control at all times. No request to us is needed to access or delete your data.
